My name is Bryan and I am a long-time personal trainer and online coach that holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist designation through the NSCA.

I have also achieved high standing in the fitness industry, having written hundreds of articles for many of the leading fitness publications such as Ask Men, Men’s Health and Bodybuilding.com.

But perhaps most importantly, for the last 20 years I’ve worked in the business of helping people build the body they’ve always wanted.

And I’ve been successful at this for two reasons:

First, I have a laser-like focus and masterful grasp of the fundamental tenets of physique transformation—I’ve got no time for hacks, shortcuts or schilling unnecessary supplements or revolutionary new protocols. Because in truth, the principles behind changing your body are relatively simple—what’s hard is putting them into practice!

But I’ve successfully transformed hundreds of clients to this point, and I KNOW I can help you achieve lasting results too.

Second—if you couldn’t tell already—I’m a no-nonsense kind of guy. In fact, I’ve built my entire career on truth and transparency—something my clients value and appreciate most of all in our work together.

What is the Lean Living Blueprint?

The Lean Living Blueprint is an online program that combines the power of coaching and community to deliver powerful, personal coaching to help men and women achieve lasting changes to their body by building muscle and shredding body fat.

Is the coaching program for building muscle or fat loss?

It’s definitely both. Have you heard the term, skinny-fat? It attempts to describe someone that has no appreciable muscle (kinda skinny) and yet still carries an excess of body fat. The combination is very unflattering and leaves us looking—ordinary. And while shredding fat sounds like the right approach (and is for some), getting lean when you’re too small can leave you looking scrawny. This is why packing on muscle is a better approach for many. Not only does it give serious shape to your body, it can make you look a lot leaner too. Can you imagine peeling away the fat once you’re carrying another 10lbs of muscle on your frame? Believe me—muscle solves a lot of problems!

Is this coaching program for men or women?

This coaching program works equally well for men and women, and we have almost as many women in our program as men. But if you read my comments earlier, you’ll know that I treat women no differently to the men in my program. Yes, they have different needs and some protocols work better than others. But the notion that women, lifting and muscle don’t mix is an outright lie. Muscle solves a lot of problems—and that’s just as true for the fairer sex.

Is this program suitable for a beginner?

Honestly, no. If you are completely new to lifting weights and have never stepped foot in a commercial gym, you are not going to get the best out of my program.

What kind of exercise equipment do I need to start?

Improved body composition is largely about diet and managing energy balance. So you can lose weight with minimal amounts of training. The key is to shift the majority of those losses to fat stores, and that requires that we stimulate our muscles through some kind of resistance training.
Ideally, you’d have access to a full commercial gym as this provides you with the widest range of training options. But a very well equipped home gym will work almost as well.
But given the state of the world right now with COVID-19, a lot of us are being forced to train at home with whatever equipment we can get our hands on. And we have people active in our program right now that are training with little more than adjustable dumbbells and some resistance bands!
Now I’d be lying if I said that “body weight and bands” is going to build you the physique of your dreams. But it absolutely can help you maintain the muscle that you have while you work on crushing your nutrition, habits and lifestyle factors like stress management and sleep etc.

How long are the workouts?

This is largely down to you. All of our workouts are designed so that you can train on a cadence and frequency that fits your schedule and—most importantly—your recovery needs. Because despite what you may have been told, we don’t build muscle when we’re training. Muscle grows during periods of recovery in response to progressively increasing demands. So making you train 6 days a week when you can’t recover fully is going to do nothing for you and ultimately leave you feeling tired, sore and deflated.
Remember, this is PERSONAL group coaching. Anyone selling a one-size-fits-all program is doing so out of convenience, not because it is the best training program to meet you where you are.

Is there a special diet I have to follow?

Special? Absolutely not. We don’t promote any crazy eating protocols. No “must eat” foods. No “don’t eat” foods.
In fact, our golden rule with nutrition? Keep diet AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE.
That not only means food that's easy to shop, prep, and eat, but also easy to repeat. Because consistency is what drives success—the more consistent you are, the easier it is to get your body into a rhythm. That is where the magic really happens.
So as coaches, we help clients build diet “templates” around their natural eating tendencies, including the foods they enjoy, meal timing, and macro breakdowns. This creates minimal disruption and helps establish a rhythm as fast as possible.There is absolutely no need to turn your life totally upside down.

Will I need to take any special supplements?

Nope. None are required, and everything you need to make progress can be achieved eating a healthy balanced diet.
But here’s the thing, most people aren’t eating a healthy balanced diet and in fact 85-90% of the adult population are deficient in one or micronutrients. So to say that supplements can’t be a useful tool in our arsenal would be disingenuous.
There’s also the question of convenience. For example, while eating whole foods is almost always better than shakes and supplementation, it takes no account for real people living real lives. Some people don’t have the luxury of being able to cook, prepare and eat perfectly portioned amounts of food that include lean sources of protein. So a protein shake is not only incredibly convenient, but highly effective too.
Remember—for some people—the stress of having to juggle all the machinations around food will limit progress far more than if they could “simplify” their life with protein shake.
And there are also some supplements—like Creatine—that have been through literally thousands of studies and proven to be effective in improving our exercise performance, endurance, pain tolerance and recovery.
The key is in the name—supplemental—not required.

What if I don’t have a computer?

No computer, no problem. Coaching is delivered via email and our private Facebook coaching group, and apps are available for FREE on every mobile device. Our programs are also delivered via PDF and electronic spreadsheets, which are again accessible for FREE on every mobile device.

Is it safe for me to purchase this online?

This website is hosted on a secure server that is digitally protected via a SHA-256 secure hashing algorithm and any personal data sent over the wire is fully encrypted.

What if the program doesn’t work for me?
